Welcome to the Red Room! (48-60 months)

The Red Room is a busy place, as it is home to 4 & 5 year olds. Because of the diversity of this group, parents will see a wide developmental range in the children and in their work. We offer many choices and activities to accommodate all members of the group. Group projects are the main focus in our room as we strive to prepare children for Kindergarten. The children are learning the alphabet, both in direct, academic lessons and throughout the day, as they identify letters and sounds. Math is taught, with rote counting, games to introduce addition and subtraction, sequencing and classifying. The finger plays become longer. The children enjoy picking a topic of interest and a project around that subject. The goal of this room is to send these children off to Kindergarten with enthusiasm, with curiosity and with a love of learning.
